     ♦ ...Слова-то телеграммы никак не складываются. Что-то наскрёб, но совсем без ругани, понёс показывать - А.Т. [Твардовский] разгневался: слабо, не то! Я его мягко похлопал по спине, он пуще вскипел: "Я - не нервный! Это - вы нервный!" Ну, ин так. Не пишется. Утро вечера мудреней, дайте подумать, завтра утром пошлю, обещаю (Солженицын 2). ...The words wouldn't fit together in my telegram. I scrawled something, without a word of abuse in it, and took it to show A.T. [Tvardovsky]- who got angry: too feeble, no good at all! I patted him gently on the back, and he was even more furious: "I'm not the nervous one! You are!" Well, maybe so. Anyway, I can't write it. Let's sleep on it. Give me time to think.
